This research is with objective to study the condition of problem on teenager’s behavior of associating
with lovers, the definition of words “Choo”, “Kik” and “Kak” implied by teenager, their behavior in association
with lovers, and solution on the individual’s problem on sex relation among teenager. The study was
implemented with both quantitative and qualitative research by using questionnaire with 290 samples in the
area of Lampang province which were students from 12 institutes. The study was analyzed with means,
frequency, percentile and one-way ANOVA method. It was found from the study as follows.
Teenager, divided into 51.40% male and 48.60% female, were mostly at the age range 15-20 years
with the percentage of 64.80%. Among this number, there were the ones who had association with lovers up
to 73.46% while 38.50% had more than 2 lovers, comprising 11.27% as “Choo”, 23.47% as “Kik”, and 3.76%
as “Kak”. In addition, 54.93% of those who had association with more than 2 lovers even had sex relation
with their lovers, while 44.00% of “Kik” and 37.50% of “Kak” even had sex relation with their lovers.
In terms of the factors which affected on the choosing of lovers, teenager gave priority to external
image as beauty, pretty, handsome, looking good, while the first three priorities of internal image concerned
were nice, good behavior, and experience for interesting lives. In comparison of the satisfaction in association
with lovers in form of “Fan” with the forms of “Choo”, “Kik” and “Kak”, it was found no significant relation.
The existence of teenager’s behavior on association with lovers was derived from the interaction
process on the symbol which was differentiated in each individual so called “style”. The supportive factors
were mass media, knowledge on rights and liberty, the physical and emotional development of teenager, and
the country’s development. This used the “Cut and Mix” method. The opinion and belief was established as
culture on the new way of individual love and widespread among teenager. Besides, the symbol was
designed in substitute of new way of love culture with the definition of “Kik” and “Kak”. Teenager had given
the definition of each word as follows.
“Choo” meant the relationship between male and female by filling each other similar to “Friend”,
“Kik” meant person who had more relation than being “Friend”, and had the feeling of missing each
other, and

“Kak” meant person who had more relation than being “Friend”, had the feeling of missing each other,
and be able to concern on each other.
In terms of having association with lovers of teenager, it was found that there were five main
problems: firstly, teenager often changed their lovers; secondly, to have association with lovers of teenager
always concurred with having sex relation; thirdly, teenager had adapted their close friends’ behavior of
having association with lovers; fourthly, teenager were mostly the lonely, lack of love and care; and fifthly, the
use of love issue as the tool of seeking for money. The problems were caused by (1) the imitation of adult’s
behavior, TV media and Western and East Asian culture of having free sex without carefully consideration in
applying with Thai culture; (2) the change of teenager’s transition period e.g. physical change, emotional
change, and socio-cultural change; (3) the system of education that focusing on knowledge in text books than
learning on how to live properly in the society; (4) the collapse of family institutional system; (5) Thai culture
in which belief that sex was the secret issue thus created eagerness to know, to see and to try; and (6) the
change of economic situation.

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาสภาพปัญหาการคบคนรักของวัยรุ่น คำนิยามของคำว่า ชู้ กิ๊ก และกั๊กตามนัย
ของวัยรุ่น พฤติกรรมของวัยรุ่นในการคบคนรัก และหาแนวทางการแก้ไขปัญหาปัจเจกบุคคลด้านความสัมพันธ์ทางเพศ
ของวัยรุ่น ด้วยการวิจัยผสานวิธีการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณและการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยใช้แบบสอบถามกับกลุ่มตัวอย่าง
จำนวน 290 ตัวอย่าง ในพื้นที่จังหวัดลำปาง ซึ่งเป็นนักเรียนและนักศึกษาจำนวน 12 สถาบัน และวิเคราะห์ด้วยสถิติ
ได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ย ความถี่ ร้อยละ การวิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์ทางเดียว (One-way ANOVA) ผลการศึกษาพบว่า
กลุ่มวัยรุ่นเพศชายร้อยละ 51.40 เพศหญิงร้อยละ 48.60 มีอายุระหว่าง 15 – 20 ปีมากที่สุดร้อยละ 64.80 วัยรุ่น
มี การคบคนรักร้อยละ 73.45 ในจำนวนนี้วัยรุ่นที่คบคนรักมากกว่าสองคนร้อยละ 38.50 ซึ่งประกอบด้วยการคบคนรัก
ในรูปแบบชู้ร้อยละ 11.27 รูปแบบกิ๊กร้อยละ 23.47 และรูปแบบกั๊กร้อยละ 3.76 ทั้งนี้คนที่คบคนรักแล้วจะมีเพศสัมพันธ์
กับคนรักร้อยละ 54.93 ซึ่งการคบคนรักมากกว่าสองคนในรูปของชู้จะมีความสัมพันธ์ทางเพศกับคนรักร้อยละ 58.33
รูปแบบกิ๊กจะมีความสัมพันธ์ทางเพศกับคนรักร้อยละ 44.00 และรูปแบบกั๊กจะมีความสัมพันธ์ทางเพศกับคนรักร้อยละ
37.50
ด้านปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อการเลือกคบคนรัก วัยรุ่นให้ความสำคัญกับ ภาพลักษณ์ภายนอก ได้แก่ ความสวยงาม
น่ารักหล่อ ดูดี ภาพลักษณ์ภายใน ได้แก่ จิตใจดี นิสัยดี และเป็นการเติมสีสันให้กับชีวิต เป็นสามลำดับแรก เมื่อ
เปรียบเทียบระดับความพึงพอใจในการคบคนรักในรูปแบบแฟน กับรูปแบบ ชู้ กิ๊ก และกั๊ก พบว่าความพึงพอใจในการ
คบแฟนไม่มีความสัมพันธ์กับความพึงพอใจในการคบชู้ กิ๊ก และกั๊ก อย่างไม่มีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ
พฤติกรรมการคบคนรักของวัยรุ่นที่ปรากฏนี้ เกิดขึ้นจากกระบวนการปฏิสัมพันธ์เชิงสัญลักษณ์ที่มีแบบฉบับของ
ตนเองที่เรียกว่าสไตล์ (style) โดยมีปัจจัยกระตุ้น ได้แก่ สื่อประเภทต่างๆ ความรับรู้เรื่องสิทธิเสรีภาพ พัฒนาการของ
วัยรุ่นทั้งทางร่างกายและสังคม และผลของการพัฒนาประเทศ โดยใช้วิธีการปะติดปะต่อ (Cut and Mix) ความคิดและ
ความเชื่อ สร้างเป็นวัฒนธรรมเรื่องความรักรูปแบบใหม่ของตนเองและแพร่กระจายในกลุ่มวัยรุ่น ทั้งยังได้กำหนด
สัญลักษณ์แทนวัฒนธรรม เรื่องความรักรูปแบบใหม่ด้วยคำว่า กิ๊ก และกั๊ก ซึ่งวัยรุ่นได้นิยามความหมายของสัญลักษณ์
ไว้ดังนี้
ชู้ หมายถึง ความสัมพันธ์ของชายหญิง ที่เติมเต็มให้กันและกัน คล้ายเพื่อน
กิ๊ก หมายถึง บุคคลที่มีความผูกพันกัน มากกว่าเพื่อน มีความรู้สึกคิดถึงกัน
และ กั๊ก หมายถึง บุคคลที่มีความผูกพันกัน มากกว่าเพื่อน มีความรู้สึกคิดถึงกัน เป็นห่วงกันได้คล้ายแฟน

ด้านปัญหาการคบคนรักของวัยรุ่นการศึกษานี้พบปัญหาหลัก 5 ประการคือ หนึ่ง วัยรุ่นเปลี่ยนคนรักบ่อยครั้ง
สอง การคบคนรักของวัยรุ่นมักจะต้องมีเรื่องเพศสัมพันธ์เข้ามาเกี่ยวข้อง สาม วัยรุ่นมีการลอกเลียนแบบพฤติกรรม
การคบคนรักจากเพื่อนหรือคนรู้จัก สี่ วัยรุ่นมีความรู้สึกเหงา ขาดความรัก ขาดคนเอาใจใส่ และห้า การนำเรื่องความรัก
มาใช้เป็นเครื่องมือ แสวงหาทรัพย์ ปัญหาทั้งห้าประการมีสาเหตุมาจาก 1) การลอกเลียนแบบพฤติกรรมจากผู้ใหญ่ สื่อ
โทรทัศน์และวัฒนธรรมความเป็นอิสระทางเพศตามแบบตะวันตก และเอเชียตะวันออก โดยมิได้พิจารณาถึงความ
เหมาะสมกับสังคมไทย 2) การเปลี่ยนแปลงในระหว่างวัยรุ่นได้แก่ การเปลี่ยนแปลงของร่างกาย การเปลี่ยนแปลงทาง
อารมณ์ และการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสังคมและวัฒนธรรม 3) ระบบการศึกษาที่มุ่งเน้นการให้ความรู้ในตำราเรียนมากกว่า
การสอนวิชาการดำเนินชีวิตในสังคม 4) ระบบสถาบันครอบครัวเสื่อมสลาย 5) วัฒนธรรมไทยที่เห็นว่าเรื่องเพศสัมพันธ์
เป็นเรื่องลับทำให้เกิดความอยากรู้ อยากเห็น และอยากลอง และ 6) การเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพเศรษฐกิจ
