The research was done to study on the MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) which is the most widely used and researched standardized psychometric test of adult personality psychopathology and mental health. A clinical psychologist uses MMPI to assist differential diagnosis in psychiatric patients and screen normal candidates in any purposes. MMPI was translated and have been used in Thailand for a certain period of time. Thai clinical psychologists interpreted MMPI by using American’s norms which usually have some questions about the appropriateness to apply in Thai subjects. The objective of this research is to study the application of American’s norms in both validity and clinical scale to interpret MMPI in Thai. The sample group was selected by purposive sampling method from people who were examined by MMPI at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Education, Ramkhamhaeng University during the years of 2007-2013. A total number of 602 samples consisted of 325 women and 277 men. The data were analyzed with the mean and standard deviation of the raw score and T score and presented with tables and profiles. The normal range T score is between 40-70. Study results in validity scale of both women and men are the same pattern: T-score in F scale is in the range of normal T score while T score in L scale and K scale are in the range of high T-score. The high T-score in L and K likely reflected a pattern of faking good. The study results in clinical scale showed that T score in 9 clinical scales in women are in the range of normal T score while T score in 7 clinical scales in men is in the range of normal T-score.

เอ็มเอ็มพีไอ (มินนิโซตา มัลติเฟสิก เพอซะแนลลิที อินเวนทอรี) เป็นแบบทดสอบมาตรฐานสำหรับใช้ทดสอบบุคลิกภาพ จิตพยาธิและสุขภาพจิตในผู้ใหญ่ที่ได้รับความนิยมใช้กันอย่างแพร่หลายและมีการศึกษาวิจัยมากที่สุด นักจิตวิทยาคลินิกใช้แบบทดสอบเอ็มเอ็มพีไอในการช่วยวินิจฉัยแยกโรคในผู้ป่วยจิตเวชและใช้ในการคัดเลือกบุคคลปกติตามวัตถุประสงค์ต่างๆ แบบทดสอบเอ็มเอ็มพีไอได้รับการแปลและใช้ในประเทศไทยมาเป็นเวลานาน นักจิตวิทยาคลินิกไทยแปลผลการทดสอบเอ็มเอ็มพีไอโดยใช้เกณฑ์ปกติของต่างประเทศซึ่งมักจะมีคำถามเกี่ยวกับความเหมาะสมที่จะใช้กับคนไทย วัตถุประสงค์ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้คือศึกษาการประยุกต์ใช้เกณฑ์ปกติของต่างประเทศในมาตรวัดความเชื่อถือได้ในการตอบและมาตรวัดทางคลินิกในการแปลผลแบบทดสอบเอ็มเอ็มพีไอในคนไทย กลุ่มตัวอย่างได้รับการคัดเลือกแบบเฉพาะเจาะจงจากบุคคลทั่วไปที่ได้รับการทดสอบด้วยแบบทดสอบเอ็มเอ็มพีไอที่ภาควิชาจิตวิทยา คณะศึกษาศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยรามคำแหง ในช่วง ปี พ.ศ. 2550-2556 กลุ่มตัวอย่างทั้งสิ้น 602 คน ประกอบด้วยกลุ่มตัวอย่างผู้หญิงจำนวน 325 คนและกลุ่มตัวอย่างผู้ชายจำนวน 227 คน วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยคะแนนเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานของคะแนนดิบ คะแนนที และนำเสนอด้วยตารางและภาพโปรไฟล์ คะแนนทีมีเกณฑ์ปกติอยู่ระหว่าง 40-70 ผลการศึกษาในมาตรวัดด้านความน่าเชื่อถือในการตอบในกลุ่มผู้ชายและกลุ่มผู้หญิงมีรูปแบบเหมือนกันคือคะแนนทีในมาตรวัดเอฟ อยู่ในช่วงของคะแนนทีปกติในขณะที่คะแนนทีในมาตรวัดแอลและมาตรวัดเคอยู่ในช่วงคะแนนทีสูง การที่มาตรวัดแอลกับเคมีคะแนนทีสูงอาจสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงรูปแบบของการแกล้งตอบให้ดูดี ส่วนมาตรวัดด้านคลินิกพบว่าในกลุ่มผู้หญิงมี 9 มาตรวัดทางคลินิกที่มีคะแนนทีอยู่ในช่วงของคะแนนทีปกติในขณะที่กลุ่มผู้ชายมี 7 มาตรวัดทางคลินิกที่มีคะแนนทีอยู่ในช่วงของคะแนนทีปกติ
