The aims of this research were to study and compare the population’s expectations concerning the desired leadership of village chief, Mahasawat Subdistrict, Amphur Bangkraui, Nonthaburi Province, divided by individual personal status. The samples were 354 members of Bang Khanoon Subdistrict. The data collection involved using a questionnaire as a research tool, and the data were shown in the forms of analyzed frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, the dependent-t statistics, One-Way ANOVA, and a comparison of differences between two groups using multiple comparisons with Least Significant Difference (LSD) for assumption testing. Two major results were revealed. The first is that people’s expectation toward the desired leadership of village chief was high, both at the overall and category levels. In addition, the people’s expectation at category levels can be presented in descending order as follows: work capabilities, decision, human relations, personality, ethics, and emotional maturity. The second is that, when the people’s expectations toward the desired leadership of village chief were classified by personal factors, it was found that the age, level of education, and period of residence in the community have significant difference at 0.05 level, whereas gender and occupation were found to have no significant difference.

การวิจัยเรื่องนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความคาดหวังของประชาชนต่อภาวะผู้นำที่พึงประสงค์ เปรียบเทียบความคาดหวังของประชาชนต่อภาวะผู้นำที่พึงประสงค์ของผู้ใหญ่บ้านตำบลมหาสวัสดิ์ อำเภอบางกรวย จังหวัดนนทบุรี จำแนกตามปัจจัยส่วนบุคคล กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษา คือ ประชาชนที่อาศัยอยู่ในตำบลมหาสวัสดิ์ จำนวน 354 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลคือ แบบสอบถาม วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์สำเร็จรูปทางสถิติ โดยการวิเคราะห์ค่าความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และค่าสถิติที (t-test) One Way ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) และวิเคราะห์เปรียบเทียบความแตกต่างที่มากกว่า 2 กลุ่มด้วยวิธี LSD (Fisher’Least-Significant Difference) เพื่อใช้ทดสอบสมมติฐาน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. การศึกษาความคาดหวังของประชาชนต่อภาวะผู้นำที่พึงประสงค์ของผู้ใหญ่บ้านตำบลมหาสวัสดิ์ อำเภอบางกรวย จังหวัดนนทบุรี ในภาพรวมมีค่าเฉลี่ยอยู่ในระดับมาก และเมื่อพิจารณาในรายด้าน พบว่า อยู่ในระดับมากทุกด้าน เรียงค่าเฉลี่ยจากมากไปหาน้อย คือ ด้านความรู้ความสามารถ ด้านการตัดสินใจ ด้านมนุษยสัมพันธ์ ด้านบุคลิกภาพด้านคุณธรรมจริยธรรม และด้านภาวะทางอารมณ์ ตามลำดับ 2. ผลการเปรียบเทียบการศึกษาคาดหวังของประชาชนต่อภาวะผู้นำที่พึงประสงค์ของผู้ใหญ่บ้าน ตำบลมหาสวัสดิ์ อำเภอบางกรวย จังหวัดนนทบุรี จำแนกตามเพศ อาชีพต่างกัน คาดหวังของประชาชนต่อภาวะผู้นำที่พึงประสงค์ของผู้ใหญ่บ้านในภาพรวมไม่แตกต่างกัน และจำแนกตามอายุ ระดับการศึกษา ระยะเวลาที่อาศัยอยู่ในชุมชนต่างกัน คาดหวังของประชาชนต่อภาวะผู้นำที่พึงประสงค์ของผู้ใหญ่บ้านในภาพรวมแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05
