The purposes of this research were to study the readiness of selected Ramkhamhaeng University (RU) students for becoming ASEAN citizens, and to compare the readiness of these RU students, as classified by their fields of study. The sample consisted of 400 students enrolled and studying in the first week of the second semester in the academic year 2014: 180 students in the area of science and technology and 220 students in the area of humanities and social sciences, selected using the purposive sampling method. The research instrument was a rating scale questionnaire. Statistics used for data analysis were the percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test. Findings were as follows: 1) The students under the study displayed readiness for becoming ASEAN citizens in the aspect of knowledge at a very good level. The aspect of basic skills was evinced at a moderate level. Readiness in the aspect of the learning process was exhibited at a moderate level; and 2) Students who differ in the fields of study showed almost no differences in their readiness for becoming ASEAN citizens. The exception was in the case of students studying in the field of humanities and social sciences. They exhibited readiness for becoming ASEAN citizens in the aspect of knowledge of political community and ASEAN security at a higher level than those studying in the field of science and technology at the statistically significant level of .05.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความพร้อมในการเป็นพลเมืองอาเซียนและเปรียบเทียบความแตกต่างของความพร้อมในการเป็นพลเมืองอาเซียนของนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยรามคำแหง จำแนกตามกลุ่มสาขาวิชาที่เรียน กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นนักศึกษาที่ลงทะเบียนเรียนและเข้าชั้นเรียนในสัปดาห์แรกของการเปิดภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2557 จำนวน 400 คน ใช้วิธีการเลือกแบบเจาะจง จำแนกเป็นกลุ่มสาขาวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีจำนวน 180 คน กลุ่มสาขาวิชามนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์จำนวน 220 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้เป็นแบบสอบถามแบบมาตรประมาณค่าสถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการทดสอบค่าทีผลการวิจัย พบว่า 1. นักศึกษามีความพร้อมในการเป็นพลเมืองอาเซียนด้านความรู้อยู่ในระดับดีมาก ความพร้อมด้านทักษะพื้นฐานอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง และความพร้อมด้านกระบวนการเรียนรู้อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง 2. นักศึกษาที่เรียนกลุ่มสาขาวิชาต่างกันมีความพร้อมในการเป็นพลเมืองอาเซียนไม่แตกต่างกัน ยกเว้น นักศึกษาที่เรียนกลุ่มสาขาวิชามนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์มีความพร้อมในการเป็นพลเมืองอาเซียนด้านความรู้เกี่ยวกับประชาคมการเมืองและความมั่นคงอาเซียนสูงกว่านักศึกษาที่เรียนกลุ่มสาขาวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05
